Thirty (30) Month Hip Guarantee
All puppies that are purchased from Warren Retrievers include a thirty (30) month guarantee on hips. This guarantee encompasses any possible genetic problem or birth defect that would prevent the puppy from obtaining certification from the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA).
Due to the fact that it is not possible to undoubtedly state that a puppy will be entirely free of genetic problems or birth defects, we at Warren Retrievers cannot guarantee a perfect puppy. However, we can guarantee that every safety measure and proper breeding procedures have been taken to ensure that the best puppy possible will be produced. We are highly selective in our breeding process, as we only breed dogs that are OFA certified and have been issued a Good to Excellent rating. In addition, we put forth great effort in study and investigation of the background and pedigrees of all our breeding sires, including previous litters (if any) they have birthed.
Conditions
For this guarantee to be upheld, the puppy/dog must be certified with six (6) months from the time it has reached twenty four (24) months in age. This provision is consigned for the reason that the OFA will only certify pups/dogs that are twenty four months of age. If, for any reason, a problem emanates prior of the pup/dog reaching the required age, it is necessary to have the OFA evaluate all findings (i.e., x-rays, documents, etc.) and for you (pup's owner) to have a copy of said findings. It is essential to use our name, Warren Retrievers, when you are referring to the registered pup's/dog's name (i.e., Warren Retrievers' Rover or Warren Retrievers' Bandit).
In accordance to the above statement, the following are additional necessary requirements for having the guarantee remain valid:
- The puppy/dog must not have been sold to another owner or have been bred.
- We must be given a copy of the OFA's documentation of findings and records—only the OFA's judgment shall be deemed as the final decision regarding hip defects.
- Any sort of microchip number and/or tattoo registry number must be documented on all certification manuscripts (including registry company).
- We must be given an official letter from your veterinarian that confirms the microchip number and/or tattoo registry number and identifies and declares that the pup/dog has been spayed/neutered.
Failed Certification
If the OFA or an American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (AVCO) sanctioned veterinarian determines that the pup/dog cannot be certified, and you (pup's owner) have given us, Warren Retrievers, a copy of all the documentation that states the reasons for the certification decline, then you have the choice of the following options:
- You may continue to keep the puppy/dog while receiving back one-half of the purchase price after we receive proper documentation that states the pup has been spayed/neutered.
- You may give back the puppy/dog to Warren Retrievers, after we receive proper documentation that states the pup has been spayed/neutered, while receiving back one-half of the purchase price.
- You may receive a full refund after euthanizing the pup/dog.
- You may substitute your puppy with a puppy from a different litter (of equal value), after the pup in question is euthanized.
Warren Retrievers' Guarantee
Every puppy that Warren Retrievers makes available possesses a general health guarantee that is valid for the first thirty (30) days from the time the pup leaves our premises. This guarantee is only applicable to the original owner; the pup will need to be in the possession of the original owner. The guarantee is contingent upon the following conditions:
- A documented schedule of proper vaccinations (including monthly preventative heartworm treatment) for the pup must be recorded.
- The pup must have satisfactory living conditions, including, but not limited to, proper housing and shelter, acceptable food (i.e., puppy food or a controlled growth formula), a source of fresh water, and no signs (physical or mental) of abuse.
- The pup must not be left unattended and/or tied to a chain or rope. The pup should have its own area, such as a fenced yard, and be properly watched over.
- The pup's microchip is required to be registered with the Home Again Microchip Company or the AKC Companion Animal Recovery Service.
Notification
Please report to Warren Retrievers as soon as you receive any notification from a veterinarian that your puppy has substandard health. After we receive all of the proper documentation and reports from the appropriate facilities, we will be better able to discuss your options.
Disclaimer
All of the guarantees, policies, and procedures stated above are in regards to genetic or birth defects. Any type of physical abuse or injury, whether blatant or accidental, to the pup/dog automatically voids this guarantee and all of its provisions.
No pup/dog, for whatever reason, will be replaced or exchanged if it has been transferred to a new owner or if it has been bred.
